If you do not want to send updates for a long time, just edit your message up to 140 characters.
If you want to send updates for a long time, simply click on the "Long update" check box before you send and your message will be sent as an update Deck.ly long. If you continue to type your messages more than 140 characters, TweetDeck assume you want to send along an update and activate the checkbox for you. You still can choose to delete and edit your post, if desired.
We believe that this makes for a more natural flow, so long to send an update with ease, but reduces the risk of accidental disconnection length.
Changelog for TweetDeck v0.37.4:
- UPDATE: Deck.ly write behavior
- UPDATE: Moving to bit.ly API v3
- FIXED: Duplicate tweet in conversation view
- FXED: Cursor does not go back to dial box after selecting a particular element AutoComplete
